Art Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that sustains itself in part with volunteer hours. In addition to use of the facility, each studio artist will be expected to donate the equivalent of 2 hours per month over the course of their studio residence (so, for instance, if you put in a 4 hour day promoting AS at a festival you’re good for 2 months, and if you can’t pull it off this month you can make up for it later). This is intended to help build community while pitching in to help with the organization so we encourage you to join a committee, work in groups, etc. There will be a running list of volunteer opportunities that will live on our website. We will send you updates as opportunities arise via the tenants page on Facebook but it will ultimately be your responsibility to fulfill this obligation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Britany Baker at (502) 299-2652 or firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would rather email your application, please include all the same info requested below and send a compressed (zipped) file with samples of your artwork (please do not exceed 5MB). You may use snail mail to send your application and slides if you’d rather. Please send to Art Sanctuary c/o Britany Baker, 1433 S. Shelby St., Louisville, KY 40217.
To apply, please fill out our online application at the bottom of this page.
If the studios are all filled, fill out the application and you’ll be placed on a waiting list. You’ll be notified when your name comes up to see if you’re still interested.
