Art Sanctuary Presents:
Natural Paint Making Workshop
An introduction to gathering
and preparing pigments, mixing paints,
and painting with earth colors
Friday, December 12, 2014
Mollie Walsh of Pungo, VA and Liz Lewis of Detroit, MI are traveling
across the country teaching the craft of making fabric dyes and paints with organic materials.
Working with natural dyes and pigments offers the opportunity to have more control over our art
materials, ensuring that the creations we make are as pleasing to the Earth as they are to the eye.
Liz Lewis studied painting and textiles at College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI. She’s
been working with natural dyes since 2010 and has taught multiple workshops on natural and rust dyeing.
Mollie Walsh left her college career at Virginia Wesleyan College educated in the fields of fine arts
and sociology. She has gone on to share her excitement by engaging in community art projects
and teaching workshops in painting. Please join us in welcoming them both to Louisville for this
one-time learning opportunity.
