"If I read a book and it makes my whole body so cold no fire could ever warm me, I know it is poetry. If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know it is poetry."

Amy is a conundrum. Is she pink petticoats, fishnet stockings, flannel pajamas, power suits or bib overalls? The answer: Yes.

Since she was old enough to turn the pages of her Little Golden Books, Amy has been in love with words. She likes to bend, twist and weave them, sharpen their edges, massage them until they bleed, and crawl into bed with them on cold nights.

Petite and deceptively delicate in appearance, Amy is intense, steely and resilient. Raising a soon-to-be teenage son on her own makes employing Wonder Woman strength a necessity (she refuses to wear the costume, however; the gold bracelets are just tacky).
